The Perplexing Pineapple: The Cryptic Casebook of Coco Carlomagno (and Alberta) Bk 1

The Perplexing Pineapple is the result of the meeting of two creative minds from the world of children's literature - Ursula Dubosarsky and Terry Denton.

This is a great little chapter book, and I can see it being wafted under the noses of reluctant readers. Why? The Perplexing Pineapple has charm, wit and a number of intriguing activities tucked inside.

This is going to be just right for those who are more 'hands on' learners.

Oh, and did I mention that the main characters are guinea pigs?!

Coco Carlomagno (how's that for a name?!), is the chief of police in Buenos Aires. Unfortunately he is more than a little startled when a flying pineapple floats past his window, more than once, and with very odd sound effects.

Strange? Yes! Unfortunately it turns this little critter into a shivering wreck seeking solace in the waster paper bin. Ooops!

Along comes his very logical cousin Alberta, and a series of mishaps as they bumble their way through the investiagion. Eager eyes will enjoy picking up the clues hidden in the illustrations, which also serve to encourage a second read and that all important fun reflection on what has been read.

With helpful clues, (which are given great explanations are the back), a great glossary and rollicking storyline The Perplexing Pineapple works on many levels.

Don't forget to enjoy our interviews with both Ursula Dubosarsky and Terry Denton.
