This is the FIFTH picture book in the New York Times best-selling series from Mo Willems who really has put pigeons in the spot light.
I love the way that pigeon's antics just seem to perfectly capture the claims and protests from many typical toddlers - genius!
"It's NOT fair."
hmmm, maybe that phrase can be extended to include those even far beyond their toddler years!
Comedy abounds in this fast paced, witty conversation between a lovely duckling and the rather over bearing pigeon - even the font for his speech is bigger, and louder!
You see Duckling asked for a cookie. Not any old cookie, but one with nuts on it. He asked politely. Pigeon can't for the life of him understand WHY duckling gets one .... he always ask for things - a walrus, stay up late, sweets - but no, he doesn't get anything.
Duckling's unexpected move will delight young readers, his final comments will make them giggle.
The pastel colours, the hand drawn images and letters from Mo Willems create an eye-catching, fast paced romp which will be read multiple times.
