Trying to avoid that 'can we have a dog?' question - then this one is for you!!

The wry sense of humour in this picture book certainly appeals to my book corner.  The little boy in this book really wants a dog;

"But my mum says, 'We'll see,' which really means, 'NO.' "

As the discussion develops about the whys and hows, the descriptions of the different mum-type voices and faces will have the adult readers giggling with the uncanny accuracy of them!

The story develops with the little boy encouraged to make the most of the goldfish he already has - cue imagination and the goldfish becomes 'dogfish' after being taught how to catch a stick!  Love it!

Bold, modern illustrations by Dan Taylor are a real feature of this book and are one of the reasons why we keep coming back to it.
