A Pig Called Pete

After viewing a beautiful display of Pete Pascoe's art work at the local library, my book corner was very keen to get a copy of this picture book.

... and then when we realised the illustrator lives close to the my book corner headquarters, we remained very intrigued!  Fortunately we weren't disappointed with our latest selection.

This is a great bedtime read for younger listeners, few words per page keep the story moving which I find is perfect for little ones.

As the title tell us, this picture book focuses on Pete the pig and how he is different to other pigs;

"He won't wallow in 'icky sticky' mud ... because it oozes between his toes and in his ears."

This vivid description brought great giggles from my youngest.

Pete's flying adventures to Paris, Madrid, Cairo .... are a great touch, introducing these great cities.  We love the message at the end which proves that parents are not always right - cheeky and fun.

We are now off to review the other adventures in this series of picture books ...
