The Tiger Who Came to Tea

My book corner just would not be complete without a review of this classic in children's literature.

We love the perfect illustrations which portray this handsome tiger devouring everything in the house as Sophie and her mum continue to be the perfect hosts to their rather odd visitor.

"But the tiger didn't just take one sandwich.

He took all the sandwiches on the plate"

Follow Sophie's excitement as this now means she gets to go out after dark for a special tea with mum and dad. This is a classic which never fails to disappoint in our house, I can remember this book being read to us at kinder. What are your memories?

The doorbell rings just as Sophie and her mummy are sitting down to tea. Who could it possibly be? What they certainly don't expect to see at the door is a big furry, stripy tiger!

Captivating!

An old classic, but still hasn't lost it's appeal. We first saw it being read on playschool years back and knew right away that we needed to own a copy ourselves :)

One of our favourite books

This is such a great book because no matter how many times you've read it to the children, they still become just as absorbed by it. So many books capture them a couple of times and then sit unread on the bookshelf forever more. Not this one...we don't read it all the time but without fail we always end up returning to it. Really great, one they'll remember when they're all grown up!

Must have

This book is one I remember from childhood so was one of the first I bought for my first born. It does not disappoint, easy to read lovely little story. What I love most about this book is doesn't seem to have been changed to incorporate 'political correctness gone mad ', the tiger drinks all of daddy 's beer, love it. We went to see a stage version recently which was just as engaging as the book.
