You must read this book.
I urge you to delve into this book because ...
- it will take you on an incredible journey
- you must get to it before too many people start talking about it. And believe me. They will.
- I've never, ever said you must read this book. Never. Until now.
We Were Liars by E Lockhart is an intriguing, roller coaster of a novel. Aimed at the YA audience, adults are going to be talking about this one for quite sometime to come too.
This is a challenging review to write.
Why? I refuse can't give away too much detail here, it's one of those books that should open with little knowledge of its contents. Don't read anything about this book. Just get it. Read it. Then come back to me ...
Just very, very briefly ...
We Were Liars is told from the point of view of Cadence. She lives a privileged life. Every summer her entire family escape to an entire island. Pure bliss.
However there are those headaches. Those crippling migraines...
'It is true I suffer migraines since my accident.'
The writing has a poetic quality that grips the reader. It flows. Just flows.
So, urm, why are you still reading this? You need to be reading We Were Liars.
