Gangsta Granny

The Gangsta Granny from talented author David Walliams has a energising blend of engaging plots and Walliam's Dahl-esq ability to capture unique and interesting characters.

Walliam's ability to pen an effectively engaging novel, which pulls in young readers, is quickly gaining much deserved praise and a wonderfully enthusiastic following.

You really can't go far wrong by tucking one of his novels in the hands of young readers, reluctant or otherwise. Their appeal is hearteningly wide.

Ben's granny is really, really boring. I mean, she really is just your average, dull granny

*ahem*

wait a minute, this is a David Walliams book ...

The secrets are contained inside the Silver Jubilee biscuit tin, just what has Ben's granny been up to??

Well, I know that title is going to give you a clue ... and I really hate to include spoilers here, but let's just say things are just quite what they seem, on more than one level.

Gangsta Granny is a fast paced journey, with heaps of witty dialogue effectively establishing Walliams' characters.

With it's heart warming message, Walliams reveals his softer side as he explores the relationship between two seemingly very different generations.

'we old people are certainly not boring. You never know, one day we might even shock you.'

Heaps of energy, a few cheeky twists and a wonderful heart, make this one of our favourite novels from 2013.

My favourite David Walliams book, interesting, funny and sad.

Ben’s mum and dad like to watch dancing programs on television. One day Ben went to his Granny’s house when his parents went to watch dancing. When Ben went to get biscuits from the biscuit tin in the kitchen, there was stacks of jewels in there! Ben’s noticed then that his gran has a big secret – she is a GANGSTA GRAN! You need to read the book, I don't want to spoil the entire story. Its interesting, funny and sad. The story is awesome, Ben learned to really appreciate his ‘Gangsta Granny’, it is a really funny story for kids! Recommend for kids 7-10.
