My Book Corner is very proud to be interviewing Australian children’s author Katrina Germein. Her stories have won Notable Book Commendations from the Children’s Book Council of Australia and her book ‘Big Rain Coming’ has been published around the world, remaining in print over a decade after its release.  ‘My Dad Thinks He’s Funny’ instantly proved so popular that it was reprinted within a month of its launch.

             I am honoured to welcome internationally acclaimed Italian author Davide Cali to My Book Corner as part of his first tour of Australia.  His newest title will be launched May/June 2012 as part of his first tour of Australia! 10 Little Insects is a hilarious graphic novel spoof of Agatha Christie's murder mystery Ten Little Indians (but with insects!) - My Book Corner has a SIGNED copy to give away ... details here! Chris Haughton, winner of the Book Trust Best New Illustrator Award 2011, is the author and illustrator of A Bit Lost, and most recently Oh No, George! Chris has a unique style and a wry sense of humour that kids just get. We are delighted to have Chris here at My Book Corner answering our questions ... did he say marmite or vegemite?!

Luca is the 8  (yes 8!) years young, senior editor of an innovative magazine for kids - BIG Kids Magazine. His position emphasises the BIG philosophy of children and artists working alongside each other and their delightfully fresh approach to magazines for children. Encouraging creativity, imagination and an engagement with the written word, this creative arts magazine is having a real impact. Read on for the My Book Corner interview with Australia's first Children's Laureate. Boori is sharing this prestigious role with Alison Lester until 2014. Interviewing Boori Monty Pryor for My Book Corner was an honour and a real highlight of my 'work'. Boori is a friendly, chatty and inspiring man who, on the day I spoke to him, had just completed three performances at schools - but still made time to speak to me. His performances at schools, where he teaches children about his culture, have evolved over the years to become very interactive.  Boori's aim is to immerse them in the culture, to encourage them to be a part of it rather than just observers.

My Book Corner is proud to announce Dub Leffler as our second author to be featured in this section, and also our first author to test out our Just For Fun section - let us know what you think! Dub Leffler, from Quirindi in NSW, began his visual career as an animator and has worked as a muralist and art teacher.  He has illustrated several children's books and has collaborated with Colin Thompson, Shaun Ran and Banksy.  Once there was a boy is the first book Dub has written and illustrated.
