This is a great little chapter book, and I can see it being wafted under the noses of reluctant readers. Why? The Perplexing Pineapple has charm, wit and a number of intriguing activities tucked inside. This is going to be just right for those who are more 'hands on' learners.

Peter H. Reynolds has a knack for not only celebrating, but going all out to encourage creativity and self expression in young readers and artists. This creative element makes his picture books a joy to read, share and absorb.

A bright practical little book exploding with creative ideas to keep little hands very busy indeed.

I fell in love with Joel's blog quite some time ago, pre My Book Corner.  The inspired ideas, creativity, amazing pictures and the FUN captured my attention even though I am a little bit challenged in the craft skills department. Ultimately Joel's ideas work - after all he has created them with his own children. Made To Play! is exactly what you need for a present with a difference - something which is modern, quirky and sure to be used over and over.

My Book Corner hasn't contemplated reviewing magazines before, but considering our philosophy is to only review the very best - the BIG Kids Magazine has nestled itself perfectly in to My Book Corner.
