Too Flash is an engrossing chapter book for older readers. Penned by Melissa Lucashenko, an Australian writer of mixed European and Murri heritage she articulates the trials and tribulations of Zo, a fifteen year old who is forced to move across country when her career focused mum is relocated by her employer.

This gorgeous picture book will entrance you from the moment you open the hard cover when you'll be engulfed by images of delicate flowers cascading towards you from the frangipani tree nestled behind. Set against a background of warm swirly reds and oranges these delightful hues echo the warm, heartening family relationships that are depicted within the pages of the Old Frangipani Tree at Flying Fish Point.

When I arrived in Australia three years ago I went straight to the library to learn more about the country I had landed in.  The first book I walked away with was 'Maybe Tomorrow'. I have since recommended it to friends, book clubs and now I recommend it to you.  Many parts of it have stayed with me, and I hope that My Book Corner does it justice here.

Mary passes on her story, her knowledge and her experiences of when she was young.  This book is rich in Papunya history, Luritja language and anecdotes from Mary's childhood culminating in a beautiful book which will be of value to everyone who reads it.
