Stickman

Stick man is a family favourite. It's classic Donaldson / scheffler with adventure, scary bits, rhyming and a happy ending. After a few readings you'll find yourself saying "I am, I am, I'm a stick man I am!". Very good all year round but the story works well for Chrissie present. Highly recommended.

Look see look at me

The first thing I like about this book is the artwork. It captures movement and particularly that lovely way very young children move beautifully. The simple story of an aboriginal boy flows along and little ones can do the actions of just enjoy the illustrations. Essentially it's about a boy growing up being able to do things that he could not before. The toddler likes the words that he understands and the dog and the crocodile. I expect by the time he is three he'll like it for lots more reasons! A gem.

A Bit Lost

This is a great bedtime book. It's funny and warm and the illustrations are great. My 2 year old loves the different animals and I'm quite happy to read it 8 times before I'm allowed to put it down! Some children's books I dread having to read but this one makes me smile as much as the Toddler. The last page gets a great uh-oh!
