Best Easter Books

Update: With the release of some fab new Easter books, I felt compiled to create another list here.

Easter time presents the perfect opportunity to delve in to the classics and discover some new inspiration all on the themes of rabbits, eggs and fun.

Books are a perfect antidote to all that chocolate - although if any of my family are reading this ... books AND chocolate make the ideal combination!

This is an overview of My Book Corner's favourite Easter treats. Remember to click on the link for the full Easter Book review and our price comparisons, so you can find the best deal.

A Home For Bilby by Joanne Crawford

... because it wouldn't be an Australian Easter with out a bilby! Featuring a fabulous eclectic mix of Australia's unique and inspiring animals, with gorgeous illustrations from the award winning Grace Fielding you can bring this one out through out the year.

The Golden Egg Book by Margaret Wise Brown

If you are in love with vintage style illustrations with a whimsical feel then this classic picture book by Margaret Wise Brown is the one for you.

Meet the most beautifully illustrated chocolate brown bunny who stumbles across a blue speckled egg.

Easter Bugs by David A Carter
Bright, simple and gloriously fun images will catch your attention on each double page of this book.
The concept? Open each double page to find the text on one side,
"Who's in the golden egg?'
Pull down the egg on the facing page to find a fun monster popping up from each one.

Let’s Make Rabbits by Leo Lionni

Gorgeously crafty - in the doing and making sense – this is a perfect little picture book. This a perfect story for the 0-4 age group with just a brief couple of sentences on each page. Depth to the story comes lightly towards the end, with a 'discussion' on shadows and how that makes the carrot and the rabbits real.

Chick by Ed Vere
This short and very sweet pop up board book from the talented Ed Vere is sure to gain a few giggles at Easter time! The pop up features encourage the right amount of interactivity and the page where Chick poops ... gains just the right amount of giggles!

50 Easter Things To Make and Do by Kate Knighton

A bright practical little book which is exploding with creative ideas to keep little hands very busy indeed. There are a variety of activities in here which is why I like it - some are very specific to Easter however there are plenty which can be easily achieved at anytime of the year.

I Love Easter by Anna Walker

Cute, simple and stylish I Love Easter is full of Easter cheer for the younger age group.

 Squish Rabbit by Katherine Battersby

Although not quite on an Easter theme, we couldn't resist squeezing in this rabbit centred book which we are sure will fit in perfectly with any good Easter collection! Click on the link to view the cute trailer for Squish Rabbit.

We love "The Terrible Plop' in our house and have been reading it regularly lately. It isn't about Easter but it does have alot of rabbits in it! (I've featured it on my blog in 'The Little Bookcase' Reading Challenge, which I think you are a part of too :) Tash
